Pre-release. Based on official materials from Rockstar Games (trailers and rockstargames.com/VI). This page will be updated after Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026. Anything not named by Rockstar is either omitted or marked as unverified.

Buckme is the name Rockstar has attached to a digital payments brand inside Grand Theft Auto VI: a phone app, HUD mark next to banked cash, and a Downtown Vice City building. This page records what public official material and closely sourced encyclopedic write-ups show as of 16 September 2026. It does not invent interest rates, transfer limits, or multiplayer banking rules Rockstar has not published.

For the wider pre-release picture, see GTA 6 everything we know and An Extended Look. For how banked money fails on today's FiveM servers, see Why FiveM banks print money.

What Buckme is, in one paragraph

On the public record that community encyclopedias summarize from official art and footage, Buckme is a parody fintech brand — naming and placement evoke Cash App / Venmo / Zelle-style wallets rather than a brick-and-mortar Fleeca branch. Previews after An Extended Look (27 August 2026) describe a phone app that stores money separately from cash the player is carrying, with the Buckme mark appearing in the HUD beside banked cash. That split — cash on hand versus banked balance — is the same economic idea GTA Online players already know, under a new in-fiction brand.

What official and near-official material shows

Treat each bullet as a claim about published media, not about final shipping systems:

  • Domain leak (September 2025): Community documentation (including GTA Wiki's Buckme article) records buckme.app among domains temporarily registered under Take-Two Interactive nameservers in a September 2025 leak set. That is evidence of branding intent, not a playable build.
  • Ultimate Edition marketing art: A Downtown Vice City mid-rise carrying Buckme branding appears in official Ultimate Edition screenshot material; wiki coverage calls this the Buckme Building. See also location notes on Vice City what is confirmed.
  • An Extended Look (27 Aug 2026): Secondary coverage of the 26-minute PS5 footage reports Buckme billboards and HUD banked-cash presentation with the Buckme mark. Prefer the official video on Rockstar / YouTube / Netflix over fan frame-reads; our Extended Look guide separates Rockstar's own words from commentator inference.

Rockstar's consumer site and Newswire, as of this writing, do not publish a standalone "Buckme systems" support article with APIs, fees, or co-op rules. If that changes, this page should gain a dated row — not speculation.

What is not confirmed

  • Exact app UI flows (send, request, split bill, crypto, etc.).
  • Whether Buckme is the only banked-money container or one brand among several.
  • Any link between Buckme and a future GTA VI Online economy. GTA 6 Online is not announced; the launch SKU is sold as single-player.
  • Any statement that FiveM, Cfx.re, or third-party RP tools will read Buckme data. FiveM today runs on Grand Theft Auto V.

Why RP operators still care before November 19

Even without VI multiplayer, Buckme is useful as a design reference: Rockstar is again teaching players that "cash in pocket" and "money in the app" are different pots. Server economies that blur those pots — or that let concurrent withdraws invent a third pot — are the failure mode described in Why FiveM banks print money. The fiction brand is new; the ledger problem is not.

FAQ

Is Buckme confirmed by Rockstar by name in a Newswire post?

The strongest public attachments today are branded art, HUD presentation in Extended Look coverage, and the earlier buckme.app domain association summarized by encyclopedias. Always prefer primary video and store art over secondary paraphrases when editing this page.

Does Buckme mean GTA 6 has co-op banking?

No. Store listings still describe a single-player campaign. See GTA 6 co-op.

Will Joyride's FiveM bank become a Buckme clone?

No. joyride.games ships FiveM ledger software for GTA V servers. Buckme is VI fiction branding. The only honest bridge is the shared idea that banked money must not duplicate under load.
