Pre-release. Based on official materials from Rockstar Games (trailers and rockstargames.com/VI). This page will be updated after Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026. Anything not named by Rockstar is either omitted or marked as unverified.

Grand Theft Auto VI has no official PC system requirements. There is no minimum spec, no recommended spec, no GPU list, and no install size on Steam, Epic, or the Rockstar Launcher. Those storefronts are not selling the game. The listed hardware is PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, launching 19 November 2026.

Can you play it on what you own?

Yes

Confirmed platform. Grand Theft Auto VI is listed on PlayStation Store for PS5. PS5 Pro is the same SKU; Rockstar has not published a separate Pro feature list.

Platform list in full · Why there is no PC date

If a page shows a GTA 6 table with “RTX 4070 / 32 GB RAM / 150 GB,” it is a guess, a placeholder, or a GTA V leftover with the logo swapped. This page exists so that search still hits an honest answer.

Why the spec table is empty

Requirements describe a SKU. Take-Two’s Q1 FY2027 lineup (7 August 2026) lists VI on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. rockstargames.com/VI lists the same two. Rockstar Support’s platforms article (18 August 2026) tells you those are the pre-order platforms. The Rockstar Store listing does not have a PC picker.

Until Newswire or Take-Two names PC, there is nothing to put in a Can You Run It widget. Dedicated PC product question: will GTA 6 be on PC.

What we also do not have for consoles

The vacuum is not PC-only.

  • Install size / file size. Not on Support, not on the Store. Pre-load begins 12 November 2026. That is when the download manager will print a number. Tweets that already know the number are not Support articles.
  • Frame-rate targets. No 30 / 40 / 60 / 120 figures. No performance/quality modes named.
  • Resolution targets. No 4K claim. No dynamic-resolution claim.
  • Ray tracing / PS5 Pro. Frame-rate and resolution unpublished. PlayStation Store carries a PS5 Pro Enhanced badge; what it does is unknown. “Plays Best On PlayStation 5” is a tagline, not a Pro feature list.
  • Xbox Series S versus Series X. Grouped as “Xbox Series X|S.” No separate S cut has been described.
  • Storage type. Current-gen consoles install to SSD internally. That does not tell you whether a USB drive is supported, and it does not tell you how many gigabytes to free.

The Extended Look was “captured entirely from in-game footage on PlayStation 5.” Capture hardware is not a promise that your Xbox will match that presentation. It is a film credit.

Historical ports, which are not VI

People want a number, so they reach for the last number.

GTA V on PC (2015) published a real spec sheet for a 2013 console game. Its “minimum” looks quaint in 2026 and is irrelevant to a new generation of Rockstar tech. Copying those rows into a VI article is how you get 4 GB RAM sitting under a 2026 headline.

Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC (2019) is closer in ambition and still the wrong game. Its recommended spec is a 2019 recommended spec.

This page will gain a table when Rockstar publishes one, not when a leaker types DDR5.

What you can prepare without a spec

For console buyers, preparation is not GHz. It is accounts, disk space you do not yet know, and a pre-load date. That list is the launch checklist.

For PC players, the honest prep is: do not buy a GPU “for GTA 6” based on a fake table. If you were already upgrading, upgrade for the games that exist. If a VI PC announcement lands with a recommended 5080-class card, that will be a new fact. It is not a fact today.

For laptop owners asking “can my 4060 run it”: there is no answer that is not a shrug. Anyone giving you a fps estimate is role-playing a benchmark.

Benchmarks, leaks, and “insider” specs

The 2022 development leak showed work in progress on specific hardware. Using that as a 2026 retail spec is how you confuse a capture kit with a SKU. The August 2026 leak clips are the same category: unauthorized, incomplete, not a Support document. Rockstar’s reported statement on recent leaks: heartbreaking; spoilers may affect the intended experience. We do not transcribe leaked menus into RAM amounts.

Outlet previews after studio visits (late August 2026) described the game as they saw it on PS5. Descriptions of smoothness or resolution in a controlled room are not min-spec. They are preview language.

Rob Nelson’s interviews were about playable systems in the campaign (bodies, phones, couple-or-solo), not about graphics presets.

What “GTA 6 PC specs” will look like when they exist

Whenever a real sheet ships, it will almost certainly include:

  • OS
  • CPU min / rec
  • RAM min / rec
  • GPU min / rec, with an API (likely DirectX / Vulkan, but do not print one until they do)
  • Storage, probably SSD-only
  • A note about Rockstar Launcher, Social Club, and an always-online check — if they require those. V’s PC launch had its own DRM fights. Predicting VI’s is fan fiction.

This page should then split: a short “console still has no fps target” section, and a dated PC table with a link to the store page. Until that day, a long fake table would rank, and it would be wrong.
