Grand Theft Auto VI's confirmed US list prices were published by Take-Two and Rockstar on 24 June 2026 in US dollars only. Every other regional price you see is set independently by the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store for that country, not converted from the US dollar figure by Rockstar. That is also why two "official" GTA 6 price lists you find online can disagree without either one lying.

This page is about the price mechanism: what Rockstar actually confirmed, how PlayStation and Xbox set a number for your country, and why the figures circulating for non-US regions vary. The storefront numbers themselves sit on the editions and prices sheet. For what each edition contains, see editions; for the pre-order timeline, see pre-order.

What Rockstar and Take-Two actually confirmed

Take-Two's 24 June 2026 Business Wire release and the same-day Rockstar Newswire post are the only primary-source price statements. Both name US dollars only.

Neither company published a non-US price table. No Newswire post gives a pound, euro, or yen figure. Every non-US number in circulation, including the ones on this site's own editions and prices sheet, was read directly off a regional PlayStation Store or Xbox listing, not off a Rockstar document.

How a regional price actually gets set

Storefronts do not run the US price through the day's exchange rate and print the result. PlayStation and Microsoft set a local list price per country, using a mix of currency conversion, local sales tax and VAT rules, regional purchasing-power adjustments, and each publisher's pricing agreement with the storefront for that territory. That is standard practice across the industry, not something specific to VI or Rockstar.

Two consequences follow directly from that process:

Prices are not a clean currency conversion. $79.99 does not map to a single "correct" number in another currency, because the storefront price already includes local tax handling and regional pricing tiers that a currency calculator does not know about. Converting $79.99 to pounds with a live exchange rate will not land on the actual UK listing.

VAT-inclusive versus VAT-exclusive pricing changes what number looks "confirmed." US retail prices are typically shown before sales tax is added at checkout. Many European and UK storefront prices are shown VAT-inclusive, meaning the sticker price already has tax built in. A shopper comparing a US pre-tax number to a UK tax-inclusive number is not comparing like with like, which is part of why "the US price is cheaper" claims circulating online are often an apples-to-oranges read rather than a real regional discount.

The regional prices actually listed, as of 1 September 2026

These are the numbers this site checked directly on PlayStation and Xbox regional storefronts, not a Rockstar price sheet. The United States, United Kingdom, Eurozone, and Australia rows live on the editions and prices sheet rather than being repeated here.

Every other country's price sits on that country's own PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store listing, checked at the time of purchase, not compiled into an official global table by Rockstar.

Why the numbers online disagree

Search results and forum posts for "GTA 6 price in [country]" routinely conflict with each other for reasons that have nothing to do with anyone lying:

  1. Different check dates. A storefront price recorded in July can be revised by September without a press release. Regional game pricing moves more often than headline US dollar figures.
  2. Currency-conversion guesses versus real listings. A site that ran $79.99 through an exchange-rate API produces a different, and often wrong, number than a site that actually opened the storefront for that country.
  3. VAT-inclusive versus VAT-exclusive confusion, as above — the same underlying storefront price can be quoted two different ways depending on whether tax is folded in.
  4. Confusing the base game with the Ultimate Edition, or with the separate $20 Ultimate upgrade, which is a different SKU with its own regional price.
  5. Stale figures from before the 24 June 2026 announcement, when speculative "GTA 6 will probably cost" articles were still guessing, sometimes based on rumored $100+ pricing that never materialized as the base Standard price.

The fix for all five is the same: check the storefront for your account's actual region on the day you intend to buy, rather than trusting a converted or aggregated number.

What is not confirmed

  • A single official non-US price table from Rockstar or Take-Two. Every regional figure this site has checked came from a storefront listing, independently checked, not a Rockstar-published sheet.
  • Whether prices will change before or after launch. Storefronts can and do revise regional prices; Rockstar has not committed to holding the 24 June 2026 figures static.
  • Whether regional pricing experiments (introductory discounts, currency-specific promotions) apply to VI at all. None have been announced.
  • Tax treatment for every country. This page does not attempt to state, country by country, whether a listed price already includes local tax; that varies by storefront and jurisdiction.

FAQ

Why is the UK price not just a currency conversion of $79.99?

Because PlayStation and Xbox set regional prices independently, factoring in local tax treatment and their own pricing tiers, not a live exchange rate.

Is there an official price list for every country?

No. Rockstar and Take-Two have published US dollar figures only. Every other number comes from checking the relevant storefront directly.

Why do two websites show different prices for the same country?

Usually a stale check date, a currency-conversion guess instead of a real listing, or VAT-inclusive versus VAT-exclusive confusion.

Can I buy from a cheaper region's storefront?

PlayStation download codes are region-tied to the account's country per Rockstar Support; buying cross-region can lock you out rather than save money.
